Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets placed (ready), 14 and cushions arrayed 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 and on the earth, how it is spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
