He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 to a rich man, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and fearfully, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Accursed be man! How stubbornly he denies the Truth. 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Then let mankind look at his food - 24 How We pour water in showers 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and green fodder 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 The day on which a man shall fly from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Many a face will be glittering on that day. 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
