The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
