Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible,- 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 [how can] you turn away from it?" 68 I had no knowledge of the chiefs on high when they disputed; 69 "Only this has been inspired to me, that I am a plain warner." 70 [For,] lo, thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create a human being out of clay; 71 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 72 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 73 save Iblis: he gloried in his arrogance, and [thus] became one of those who deny the truth. 74 God said, "Satan, what prevented you from prostrating yourself to what I created with My own Hands? Were you overcome by arrogance, or are you of those who think [only] of themselves as exalted?" 75 Satan replied, "I am better than him. You created me from fire, but You created him from clay." 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 79 Said Allah, “You are therefore among those given respite.” 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "Then [I swear] by Thy very might: I shall most certainly beguile them all into grievous error 82 Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones. 83 (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting- 84 I will certainly fill the Gehenna with you and with all those among them who follow you.” 85 Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for this, and I am no simulating. 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 "And you shall certainly know the truth of it after a while. 88
