The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
