Say: 'Should we call in place of God one who can neither help nor do us harm, and turn back after having been guided by God, like a man beguiled by the devils who wanders perplexed in the wilderness while his friends call him back to the right path, saying: 'Come to us, this way?' Say: "God's guidance is (true) guidance, and we have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all the worlds. 71 and to be constant in prayer and conscious of Him: for it is He unto whom you all shall be gathered." 72 It is He Who has created the heavens and the earth in truth, and on the Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) He will say: "Be!", - and it shall become. His Word is the truth. His will be the dominion on the Day when the trumpet will be blown. All-Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the All-Wise, Well-Aware (of all things). 73 ۞ Remember when Abraham said to Azar, his father: "Why do you take idols for God? I certainly find you and your people in error." 74 So We were showing Abraham the kingdom of the heavens and earth, that he might be of those having sure faith. 75 When the night covered him over, He saw a star: He said: "This is my Lord." But when it set, He said: "I love not those that set." 76 Then when he saw the moon shining, he said, “(You proclaim that) this is my Lord?”; then when it set, he said, “If my Lord had not guided me*, I too would be one of these astray people.” (* Prophet Ibrahim was rightly guided before this event). 77 Then when he saw the sun rising, he said: Is this my Lord? Is this the greatest? So when it set, he said: O my people! surely I am clear of what you set up (with Allah). 78 Verily I have set my countenance towards Him who hath created the heavens and the earth, upright, and am not of the associaters. 79 His people argued with him. He said, "Are you arguing with me about God, while He has guided me? I have no fear of any partner you ascribe to Him, unless my Lord should wish otherwise. My Lord encompasses all things in His knowledge, so will you not pay heed? 80 And how should I fear what you have set up (with Him), while you do not fear that you have set up with Allah that for which He has not sent down to you any authority; which then of the two parties is surer of security, if you know? 81 "It is those who believe and confuse not their beliefs with wrong - that are (truly) in security, for they are on (right) guidance." 82
