A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 A Book revealed to you-- so let there be no straitness in your breast on account of it-- that you may warn thereby, and a reminder close to the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you by your Lord and do not follow any protector other than Him. How seldom you take heed. 3 How many cities have We destroyed! Our wrath struck their people at night or during their midday siesta. 4 and when Our scourge fell upon them, their only cry was, "We were indeed wrongdoers!" 5 So We shall question those unto whom a Message was sent, and We shall question the Envoys, 6 With knowledge We will narrate to them, for We are never absent. 7 And the measuring out on that day will be just; then as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is heavy, those are they who shall be successful; 8 And as for him whose measure (of good deeds) is light those are they who have made their souls suffer loss because they disbelieved in Our communications. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10
