Al-A 'araaf 8 of 24

Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!" 59 The chiefs of his people said: verily we see thee in error manifest. 60 Said he, 'My people, there is no error in me; but I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being.' 61 I deliver to you the messages of my Lord, and I offer you good advice and I know from Allah what you do not know. 62 Do you wonder that admonition should come to you from your Lord through a man from amongst yourselves that he may warn you, that you may avoid evil and that mercy may be shown to you?' 63 And yet they gave him the lie! And so We saved him and those who stood by him, in the ark, the while We caused those who had given the lie to Our messages to drown: verily, they were blind folk! 64
