We have sent no Prophet to any city but that We seized its people with misery and hardship, that haply they might be humble; 94 Then We gave them good in the place of evil until they became many and said: Distress and happiness did indeed befall our fathers. Then We took them by surprise while they did not perceive. 95 Had the people of the villages believed and been cautious, We would have opened upon them the blessings from heaven and earth. But they belied, and We seized them for what they earned. 96 Do the people of these towns now feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them by night while they are asleep? 97 or that which could seize them during their busy hours of the day? 98 Can they remain secure against the plan of God? Only they feel secure against the plan of God who are certain of being ruined. 99
