O you who have believed, obey Allah and His Messenger and do not turn from him while you hear [his order]. 20 Do not be like those who say: 'We hear' but they do not listen. 21 ۞ Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not (i.e. the disbelievers). 22 If God had seen any good in them He would surely have made them hear. Now even if He makes them hear they will turn away (in obduracy). 23 O Ye who believe! answer Allah and the apostle when he calleth you to that which quickeneth you, and know that verily Allah interposeth between a man and his heart, and that verily unto Him ye all shall be gathered. 24 And beware of that temptation to evil which does not befall only those among you who are bent on denying the truth, to the exclusion of others; and know that God is severe in retribution. 25 And remember when you were few, deemed weak in the land, fearing lest people might carry you off by force, but He sheltered you and strengthened you with His aid and gave you of the good things that you may give thanks. 26 O ye that believe! betray not the trust of Allah and the Messenger, nor misappropriate knowingly things entrusted to you. 27 Know that your possessions and children are a temptation for you and that God has the greatest reward (for the righteous ones). 28
