And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 He said: Then get out of it, for surely you are driven away: 34 "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)." 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44
