AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 They used to hew out houses from the mountains and lived in security. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say, "Indeed, I am the clear warner" - 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By the Lord, We will hold them all responsible 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 Indeed, We know that your breast is straitened at what they say. 97 When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him, 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
