He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 to him thou attendest 6 And not upon you [is any blame] if he will not be purified. 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And hath fear, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Assuredly this is a reminder 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 From a sperm-drop He created him and destined for him; 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 That We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olives and date palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruits and fodder 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And [other] faces, that Day, will have upon them dust. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
