Abraham was (equal to) a nation, obedient to Allah, of pure faith and was not among the idolaters, 120 He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way. 121 And We gave him good in the world, and in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. 122 So We commanded you to follow the way of Abraham the upright who was not of idolaters. 123 The Sabbath was ordained only for those who differed about it, and most surely your Lord will judge between them on the resurrection day concerning that about which they differed. 124 Call them to the path of your Lord with wisdom and words of good advice; and reason with them in the best way possible. Your Lord surely knows who strays from His path, and He knows those who are guided the right way. 125 And if you chastise, chastise even as you have been chastised; and yet assuredly if you are patient, better it is for those patient. 126 Endure thou patiently (O Muhammad). Thine endurance is only by (the help of) Allah. Grieve not for them, and be not in distress because of that which they devise. 127 Truly, Allah is with those who fear Him (keep their duty unto Him), and those who are Muhsinun (good-doers, - see the footnote of V. 9:120). 128
