T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 Recall what time he saw a fire and said to his household, bide ye! verily I have perceived a fire! haply I may bring you from it a brand or may find at the fire a guidance. 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 "Verily! I am your Lord! So take off your shoes, you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Firon, surely he has exceeded all limits. 24
