T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 it is a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens, 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 And if you speak aloud – so He surely knows the secret and that which is more concealed. 7 Allah, there is no god except He. To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 I Am your Lord. Take off your shoes; you are in the holy valley of Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you. So listen to what is being revealed. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 Let him who does not believe in it and follows his lust not turn your thought away from it, lest you are ruined. 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 "Catch it," said He, "and have no fear; We shall revert it to its former state. 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
