Have the unbelievers not seen that the heavens and the earth were sewn up as one (solid) mass, then We unstitched them, and that We made every living thing of water? Will they not believe! 30 And We have placed in the earth firm hills lest it quake with them, and We have placed therein ravines as roads that haply they may find their way. 31 And we have made the sky a roof withheld (from them). Yet they turn away from its portents. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, the sun and the moon, each swimming in a sky. 33 And before you, We did not appoint on earth a never-ending life for any human; will they, if you depart, become immortal? 34 Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return. 35 When the unbelievers see you, they take you only for mockery, saying: 'Is this he who talks about your gods' While they are unbelievers in the Remembrance of the Merciful. 36 Man is a creature of haste. Soon I will show you My signs, but do not ask Me to hasten them. 37 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 38 Had those who disbelieve but known (of the time) when they shall not be able to ward off the fire from their faces nor from their backs, nor shall they be helped. 39 Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved. 40 And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves. 41
