O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And they who do not associate anything with their Lord 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 "In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur'an), like one telling fables by night." 67 Have they not pondered over the Word (of Allah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet SAW), or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they have not recognized their Apostle, so that they deny him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
