'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 But leave them in their confused ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that by what We aid them with of wealth and children, 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Indeed, they who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or did they not know their Messenger, so they are toward him disacknowledging? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
