When your Lord called out to Moses, saying, "Go to the wrongdoing people, 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 Send forth with us the Children of Israel' 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray. 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 [Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful." 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 and he drew his hand (out of his armpit) and lo! it had become a shining object to the beholders. 33
