And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 Said he: "Do [you really think that] they hear you when you invoke them, 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said: nay; but we found our fathers doing in this wise. 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 "They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation." 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again), 81 And who, I hope, will condone my faults on the Day of Judgement. 82 Lord, grant me authority. Join me to the righteous ones. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
