Samood gave the lie to the apostles 141 Their brother Salih asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 142 I am for you an honest Messenger. 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 in the midst of gardens and fountains, 147 and fields, and [these] palm-trees with slender spathes? 148 And hew ye out houses in the mountains skilfully! 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 And do not obey the order of the transgressors, 151 who spread evil in the land with no reform." 152 They said, "You are only bewitched and insane. 153 you are no different from a mortal like us. So produce a sign if you are truthful." 154 (Saleh) said: "Here is a she-camel. She has a right of drinking water, and you have a right of drinking it on appointed turns. 155 and do not touch her with malice so that there seize you the chastisement of a dreadful day.' 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and then they became regretful: 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 159

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
