The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
