The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
