The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 And I ask of you no wage for it; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 Weigh your goods with proper balance 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! 185 You are nothing but a man like us, and we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
