This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To communicate to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 Then if they disobey thee, say: "I am free (of responsibility) for what ye do!" 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
