Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Should I tell you to whom the satans come? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
