In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are Verses of the Wise Book,- 2 A guidance and a mercy for the doers of goodness, 3 Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith]. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 And of mankind is he who payeth for mere pastime of discourse, that he may mislead from Allah's way without knowledge, and maketh it the butt of mockery. For such there is a shameful doom. 6 When Our verses are recited to him, he turns his back in pride, as though he never heard them, and in his ears was heaviness. Give glad tidings to him of a painful punishment! 7 Surely for those who believe and do the right are pleasure gardens. 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 This is Allah's creation, but show Me what those besides Him have created. Nay, the unjust are in manifest error 11
