A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 We have placed in it gardens of date palms and vines, and caused springs to gush [forth] from it, 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 The sun runs to its fixed resting place; that is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower. 38 And (as for) the moon, We have ordained for it stages till it becomes again as an old dry palm branch. 39 Neither is it allowable to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day; and all float on in a sphere. 40 That We bore their progeny in the laden ark is a sign for them; 41 And We have created for them of the like thereunto, so on them they ride. 42 And if We will, We drown them, and there is no help for them, neither can they be saved; 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 Never does any Sign of their Lord come to them, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!” 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await not but one shout, which shall lay hold of them while they are yet wrangling. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
