۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 and say: 'What, are our gods better, or is he?' They do not mention him to you except to dispute, truly, they are a contentious nation. 58 He ['Iesa (Jesus)] was not more than a slave. We granted Our Favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel (i.e. his creation without a father). 59 Had it been Our Will We would have made angels among you as successors in the earth. 60 (Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path. 61 and do not let satan prevent you, for he is your clear enemy. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Await they aught save the Hour, that it shall come upon them suddenly, when they know not? 66 Friends on that day will be foes, one to another,- except the Righteous. 67
