The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I swear by (the angels) who stand in ranks, 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 and those who recite Our revelations, 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 He decked the nearest heavens with ornaments of stars, 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 but if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge,] he is [henceforth] pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking. 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 saying, "This is plain sorcery!" 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.' 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
