Those who spend of their wealth in the way of God, day and night, in secret or openly, have their reward with their Lord, and have nothing to fear or regret. 274 THOSE who gorge themselves on usury behave but as he might behave whom Satan has confounded with his touch; for they say: "Buying and selling is but a kind of usury" - the while God has made buying and selling lawful and usury unlawful. Hence, whoever becomes aware of his Sustainer's admonition, and thereupon desists [from usury,] may keep his past gains, and it will be for God to judge him; but as for those who return to it - they are destined for the fire, therein to abide! 275 Allah will destroy Riba (usury) and will give increase for Sadaqat (deeds of charity, alms, etc.) And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners. 276 Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds and establish prayer and give zakah will have their reward with their Lord, and there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve. 277 O Ye who believe: fear Allah and leave that which remainoth of usury if ye are believers. 278 But if you do (it) not, then be apprised of war from Allah and His Apostle; and if you repent, then you shall have your capital; neither shall you make (the debtor) suffer loss, nor shall you be made to suffer loss. 279 And if the debtor is in difficulty, give him respite till the time of ease; and your foregoing the entire debt from him is still better for you, if only you realise. 280 Have fear of the day when you go back to God. Then each will be paid back in full his reward, and no one will be wronged. 281
