And assuredly We gave grace unto Musa and Harun. 114 And We delivered them both and their people from the mighty distress. 115 We helped them and they were victorious. 116 And We vouchsafed unto the twain a Book luminous. 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 121 Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. 122 And lo! Elias was of those sent (to warn), 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 Will you invoke Baal and forsake [God,] the best of artisans 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 But they belied him, so they will be among the arraigned (in Hell), 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 and him We left thus to be remembered among later generations: 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 Recall what time We delivered him and his household, all. 134 except for an old woman who remained behind. 135 Then We utterly destroyed the rest of them. 136 Verily, ye pass by their (sites), by day- 137 and in the night; will you not understand? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
