The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Mount; 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 By the sea overflowing. 6 surely, the punishment of your Lord is about to come, 7 There is none that can ward it off. 8 Upon the Day when the heaven spins dizzily 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 woe that day unto those that cry lies, 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And those who believed, and their seed followed them in belief, We shall join their seed with them, and We shall not defraud them of aught of their work; every man shall be pledged for what he earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
