S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! 3 And they marvel that there should come unto them a warner from among themselves. And the infidels say: this is a magician and a liar! 4 Has he made the gods [only] one God? Indeed, this is a curious thing." 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 We heard not thereof in the later faith; this is naught but an invention. 7 Was the message sent only to him out of all of us?" In fact, they doubt My warning; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified, 14
