Forgiver (Ghaafer)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ha. Mim. 1 This Book is a revelation from God, the Majestic and All-knowing 2 Forgiver of sin and Acceptor of repentance, severe in chastisement, Lord of Power. There is no god but He; unto Him is the journeying. 3 Only the unbelievers dispute the revelations of God. So do not let their activities in the land deceive you. 4 The people of Noah denied before them and the [disbelieving] factions after them, and every nation intended [a plot] for their messenger to seize him, and they disputed by [using] falsehood to [attempt to] invalidate thereby the truth. So I seized them, and how [terrible] was My penalty. 5 In this way the sentence of your Lord against the infidels that they would be the inmates of Hell, was justified. 6 Those who bear the Throne and those around it exalt with the praise of their Lord and believe in Him. They ask forgiveness for the believers (saying): 'Our Lord, You embrace all things in mercy and knowledge. Forgive those who repent and follow Your Way. Shield them against the punishment of Hell. 7 Our Lord, admit them to the everlasting Gardens You have promised them and those of their fathers and spouses and progeny that were righteous. Surely You alone are Most Mighty, Most Wise; 8 Protect them from evil; and whosoever You preserve from evil on that Day shall have surely received Your mercy. This will be the great triumph." 9
