Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The true event! 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 (The tribes of) Thamud and A'ad disbelieved in the judgment to come. 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 They defied their Lord's messenger, so He seized them with an ever-tightening grip. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 “Eat and drink with pleasure – the reward of what you sent ahead, in the past days.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 and knew nothing of my reckoning. 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food save filth 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
