And whatsoever of affliction befalleth you is owing to that which your hands have earned; and He pardoneth much. 30 And you cannot escape in the earth; and you have neither a friend nor any supporter against Allah. 31 And among His signs are the ships in the sea like mountains. 32 If He pleases, He causes the wind to become still so that they lie motionless on its back; most surely there are signs in this for every patient, grateful one, 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatever you have been given is only a temporary provision of this life, but that which is with God is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord; 36 Who avoid the deadly sins, immoral acts, and forgive when they are angered, 37 Who obey the commands of their Lord and fulfil their devotional obligations, whose affairs are settled by mutual consultation, who spend of what We have given them, 38 And those who, when tyranny strikes them, they defend themselves, 39 The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 Blame lies on those who oppress, and terrorise the land unjustly. For them there is painful punishment. 42 whoever is patient and forgiving, acts with great courage and resolution. 43
