Thamud gave the lie to the warnings, 23 they said, "Are we to follow a man from amongst ourselves? We would surely then fall into error and madness. 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And let them know that the water [of their wells] is to be divided between them, with each share of water equitably apportioned." 28 Eventually, they summoned their companion, and he undertook the (outrageous) task and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 Indeed, We have made the Quran easy to learn lessons from. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 32 The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. 36 And they tried to persuade him regarding his guests – We therefore blinded their eyes, “So taste My punishment, and My warnings.” 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
