The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
