The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 'My Lord, save me and my people from that they are doing' 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
