Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And the stars dispersed, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 and the graves are turned inside out, 4 everyone shall know all his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 noble, recording, 11 who know of all that you do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what do you know of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
