Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 You cannot challenge God on earth and you will have no one besides Him as your guardian or helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains. 32 Had He wanted, He could have stopped the wind and let the ships remain motionless on the surface of the sea, in this there is evidence (of the Truth) for all those who are patient and grateful, 33 Or He could destroy them for what they earned; but He pardons much. 34 And (that) those who dispute about Our communications may know; there is no place of refuge for them. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 who eschew grave sins and shameful deeds, and whenever they are angry, forgive; 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who, when they are oppressed vindicate themselves. 39 The meed of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereunto; but whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his hire is on Allah; verily He approveth not the wrong-doers. 40 And whosoever vindicateth himself after wrong done to him; these! against them there is no way of blame. 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 Surely, he who bears patiently and forgives indeed that is true constancy. 43
