Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 Lo! We have appointed it a Lecture, in Arabic that haply ye may understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 Yet never did a Prophet come to them but they mocked him. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and placed roads for you therein, that haply ye may find your way; 10 And He it is who sends down, again and again, waters from the sky in due measure: and [as] We raise therewith dead land to life, even thus will you be brought forth [from the dead]. 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 That you may firmly sit on their backs, then remember the favor of your Lord when you are firmly seated thereon, and say: Glory be to Him Who made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it 13 To our Lord we shall all return". 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
