And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance. 37 Until when he cometh unto Us, he will say. Ah! would that there had been between me and thee, the distance of the east and the west an evil companion 38 And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement. 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 And whether [or not] We take you away [in death], indeed, We will take retribution upon them. 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So adhere to that which is revealed to you. Indeed, you are on a straight path. 43 And lo! it is in truth a Reminder for thee and for thy folk; and ye will be questioned. 44 And ask those of Our messengers whom We sent before thee: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped beside the Beneficent? 45
