Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and the smooth runners 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
