Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
