Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
