Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
