The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the mount. 1 Consider [God's] revelation, inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 by the Visited House, 4 And by the roof raised high (i.e. the heaven). 5 and the sea swarming, 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 That Day shall they be thrust down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly. 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 Reclining on couches ranged. And We shall couple them with maidens wide eyed. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ and there go round them youths, their own, as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
